Custom Wastewater Disposal Equipment & Solutions
Emission Stack Generator
Uses:
The Emission Stack Thermoelectric Generator can be adapted to but not limited to Oil & Gas production equipment such as Dehydrators, Separators, Evaporators, Heated Liquid Steel Containment Tanks and Line Heaters, taking full advantage of the residual waste heat generated from the heating system emission stack to serve as a power source for, but not limited to Telemetry Stations, Computerized Flow Measurement Units, Cathodic Protection Systems, Automation systems, Heat Tape, Bio Re-mediation Systems, and area Lighting fixtures particularly in remote underdeveloped and/or wild geographic areas especially where grid power is non existentImportance:
The Emission Stack Thermoelectric Generator can safely provide an Oil & Gas producer the advantage of utilizing the existing residual waste heat produced on many remote well head locations to effectively provide a power source where other methods would be less than entirely satisfactory or non cost effective.
The initial Emission Stack Thermoelectric Generator is totally Intrinsic containing no moving parts or spark type applications thereby eliminating the possibility of an explosion caused by any number of frequent occurrences where due to humane or mechanical equipment malfunctions the possibility of an explosive type atmosphere could be present.
Larger higher output generators may utilize a dc fan, but will be contained in an explosion proof housing.
Specifications:
The boiler emissions stack contained on most Oil & Gas production equipment is a considerable source of available energy to convert into electricity. This generator consists of one HZ-20 module, a hot heat exchanger and a cold heat exchanger. The generator obtains its energy from the hot combustion gasses leaving the dehydrator 125,000 btu. boiler. The energy at this point can be from 66 kilowatt to 293 kilowatt. The temperature of the stack gas can vary over a wide range depending on boiler rating and whether only the pilot is burning, or both the pilot and main burner are in operation. To handle this wide difference in gas temperature, a thermostat-actuated gas diverging valve is mounted upstream of the generator hot side compartment to divert combustion gas into and through the hot side compartment transferring heat through the hot side heat exchanger to the hot side of the thermoelectric modules when only the pilot burner is operating and around the hot side compartment when both burners are in operation.
A unique feature of this generator is that it uses induced air flow to cool the cold side heat sink. This is accomplished by connecting an air duct between the cold heat exchanger and a venturi section located within the stack above the generator The lower pressure in the stack at the throat of the venturi provides adequate suction of the air flow from the cold side heat sink compartment to cool the heat sink without consuming any energy. Eliminating the fan also eliminates possible gas ignition source. The stack generator is capable of producing 18 watts of power at 1.65 volts.
The PSI -ES18 system contains a unique DC/DC boost voltage converter and charge control adjustable from 5 to 30 V.and can be used to charge a battery and provide over 400 watt-hr per day of energy for various uses. It can be installed in a minimum 6" fire tube type heating system with a minimum 125,000 btu. rating.
We can custom build the stack generator to accomodate any size & type flue gas outlet and temperature with power outputs as high as 1 KW @ 6, 12, 24, 48 Volts.
