Bonny Gathering located in Idalia, Colorado has recently completed an automation and compressor project that required several unique power supply systems. The most critical site is the WilliamÕs PLD(pipeline delivery) point located 26 miles Northeast of Idalia. If power to this site was interrupted the affects would be devastating.

The site incorporates the use of a TOTALFLOW RTU/EFM for measurement, monitoring and valve control. Also requiring power at this site are a MEECO moisture analyzer, dehydrator temperature and pump flow rate, and pipeline pressure. The primary power source for this site is an 120 vac/12 vdc converter and a 90 AH battery. If the AC power drops out a 60 Watt solar array kicks on. If both these systems fail a third and critical power source will supply power to the site. This third power source is a Pilot Power Generator(PPG) developed by Robert Farley of Power Source Inc. The PPG is located in the fire tube heating system of the Dehydrator and is wired into the existing power supply system. The PPG has a constant voltage output to power the system indefinitely.
