The Evaporative Systems, Inc. Model HT-R Evaporator utilizes a "Natural Draft Firetube" with Venturi type burners and pilots to provide the Evaporator heating requirements. These type of systems have been operating in the oil and gas industry for over 50 years.
 

Several operating problems  are solved by the use of a properly designed Venturi burner and pilot system. First, a Venturi burner ensures that at any burner operating pressure, the proper amount of primary air for efficient combustion is drawn into the Venturi and mixed with the fuel gas through a explosion proof flame arrestor cell. Once a Venturi burner has been set for a particular altitude and evaporation rate, no further adjustments are required. Second, this system eliminates COSTLY ELECTRICITY and electrical components such as blowers, motors,  numerous pressure, temperature, and indicator switches as well as their nuisance shutdowns. Low pressure Natural Gas is all we need......

We utilize a proven  SureFire pilot system with over 15 years of proven operation. The SureFire Pilot has a separate, closed, primary air supply; thus, eliminating the conditions that can cut off oxygen to traditionally designed pilots. Primary combustion air is supplied from an external source to the Venturi mixer. The pressure drop in the Venturi generated by the flow of fuel gas feeding the pilot light draws primary air into the pilot. The externally supplied air constantly supplies fresh, oxygen-rich, primary combustion air to the pilot, ensuring that it stays lit during times of firetube stagnation or adverse atmospheric conditions.

The more remote the well, the more mountainous the area, the more hostile the environment, the more important it is that the pilot light is kept running. We currently have systems in operation with years of operation with-out pilot light failure evan with out the use of flame supervision units installed.
