DC/DC Boost Voltage Converter

This efficient switching converter, with filtered output, is designed to step a minimum 1.2 volts up to levels required for charging a 6 or 12 volt battery. The circuit is protected against accidental reverse connection and the circuit board is conformal coated. Rugged D'Arsonval pivot and jewel meters are provided for monitoring the output voltage and current. Additional meters can be added for monitoring the input voltage and current as well. A circuit breaker in the output provides overload and short circuit protection. Copper compression lugs are provided for generator and load connections. Components are mounted on a grade XXG black phenolic panel with functions and labels engraved into the panel material.

Optional Features

Blocking diode:Provides protection against accidental reverse connection of a battery to the generator/voltage converter. An additional diode may be used to protect one system power supply from being damaged by a backup system.

Automatic switch-over: Provides isolation between two power supplies as well as automatic switch-over in case of a power failure. This device senses the output voltage of the primary system power supply and automatically switches to an auxiliary backup supply whenever the primary power drops below a set level. A built in time delay ensures that primary power has been restored before switching back to the primary source. Annunciation lights are available as an option.
